...but still had a wonderful experience with the story. Being a huge fan of all things vampire I gave this anthology a wide birth for it's own creativity. And it certainly didn't let me down. The addition of the angels story line was very clever and original. Very intriguing take mix with vampires. Bo's story line was a great twist with a mysterious past both haunting and at the same time one of love beyond measure. His destiny to kill his own father, a fallen Angel, original vampire, and then to become mortal overwhelms him and his beloved Ridley. Now a vampire herself, Ridley, worries nearly constantly about losing her mate. If Bo becomes mortal, she will be left to walk the Earth forever alone once he is gone. The very thought of that breaks her heart but doesn't stop her resolve to help Bo from his destiny.
In this book we are introduced to new characters, Annikka, a young vampire from Bo's past, that Ridley immediately takes a disliking to. Annika is blatantly set on making Bo hers again. She helps Bo remember parts of his long and mysterious past. Cade is yet another new character. He is a confident even if at times overwhelming so, young man. Brother of Bo, son of Sebastian, whom we now know is Constantine. The fallen Angel, original vampire, and the one Bo must kill to fulfill his destiny. Cade has a gift of foresight, specifically for helping Bo and Ridley, who has been confirmed as Bo's mate. But it comes with a twist. Ridley must feed off Cade to see the visions to come. Much to Bo's chagrin.
There are several action/fight scenes that occur in this book. Possessed wild boar and even Hell Hounds. The scene with the latter was something that rather left me frowning. I had become to expect more than how that worked out from this author.
There were just several things that made the overall feel of this book not what I had truly hoped for when first began reading.
The ending... I have to be absolutely honest I was not surprised. I saw it coming, with what Bo did. And even though Ridley and Bo's love story line was very good I don't see an Angel of God making that deal.
And then their plans... just left me feeling like something more than that would needed with them both. They really aren't the "normal" teenagers that they appear. I just didn't see how that would work out in the future.
But overall I still gave the book a 4 star rating. There were many returning characters that I have followed through the series and they did not let me down.

Blood Like Poison To Kill an Angel Blood Like Poison Series Book 3 edition by M Leighton Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
It is no secret that Leighton is one of my favorite authors and this book just solidified that fact even more. This is the first paranormal series I have read from her and now I am itching to get my hands on some more. She just knows how to tell a great story, simple as that. From page one I was absorbed and I finished this book in a matter of hours.
Ridley has come a very long way from the girl we met in the first book. She has become so strong and she is willing to do anything for those she loves. In the first book she came across as a bit weak and timid and clearly caught up in things way over her head, now she faces these things head on and is willing to deal with whatever necessary to stay a part of Bo's life. I really came to love her character over the course of this book.
I fell in love with Bo in the first book, but there was just something really spectacular about him in this book. He seemed to open up a bit more and he wasn't as reserved as he once was. This really added just something extra to his personality. He didn't spend time trying to stay away from Ridley and has accepted that he makes her life better not worse. He wasn't as broody and we really got to see his lighter side. I loved him when he was joking and witty.
The romance between Ridley and Bo is taken to new levels in this book. It began as very innocent and sweet, but now it is so much more. It is still sweet, but it is also fiery and passionate. It is strikingly clear how much they love one another and their devotion is just something I loved reading about.
I think my favorite thing about this series is the way Leighton took two of my favorite paranormal creatures and combined them into one world seemingly effortlessly. She took vampires and angels and somehow wove them together. I loved how she combined the two histories. When authors try to do this, it doesn't always work so well for the story, but with this series it just made it better.
I am so very glad I finally got around to reading this series because I really loved it. Leighton wrapped up the series really well and I adored the ending. *sigh* This is a series I would definitely love to relive again.
